The Director of Product Management is responsible for setting strategic direction and tactical implementation of activities that will lead to a customer-centric product definition and commercialization.   The role’s primary purpose is ensuring that all customers (e.g. physicians, lab staff, nurses, patients and payers) and their voice are heard and represented across all company projects.  The role is in charge of defining, designing and monitoring the marketing of HostDx products, including assays and instruments.  The ideal candidate will provide a strong vision of how the tests will be used and perceived in the market while bringing focus and precision to the details of product requirements and design.  Balancing market needs, competitive offerings, customer need and company strategy, the Director of Product Management is responsible for defining and guiding the entire product lifecycle.

This is a leadership role that requires working in a matrix organization, primarily with Product Development, Bioinformatics, Business Development and Clinical teams.  In time, the role will work closely with future Regulatory, Sales and Support teams across the globe. The Director of Product Management will have an opportunity to contribute in a direct and visible way to the Inflammatix top and bottom lines and to establishing HostDx tests into routine clinical protocols for diagnosing acute infections and sepsis.


  • Lead the product management portion of the Product Development and Design Control process. This includes full responsibility for definition of customer/market requirements, growth and profit strategies, business planning, and road mapping
  • Manage the Product Development Pipeline including the strategy. The Pipeline must yield a full portfolio of products for development and launch that meet the company’s business and revenue goals
  • Constant assessment of market conditions and competitors’ products
  • Developing marketing plan including customer segmentation, product positioning and promotional plans
  • Working closely with the Clinical team to set publication and medical education plan
  • Manage product launch and post-launch activities
  • Set objectives and coordinate marketing plans with business partners and distributors
  • Conduct or oversee market research projects and analysis
  • Grow and manage the product management/marketing organization


  • Bachelor’s degree with relevant advanced degree a plus
  • In-vitro diagnostics (IVD) industry experience required
  • At least 7 years of relevant work experience with at least 4 years in product management functions
  • Track record of building strong relationships with key opinion leaders and practicing physicians
  • Proven experience as strong contributor to cross-functional product development efforts
  • Well versed in product management and marketing frameworks
  • Strong financial and analytical skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including presenting concise and persuasive arguments to the senior executive team
  • Proficient at selecting and managing vendors and consultants
  • Thrives in a fast-paced small company environment
