JOB DESCRIPTION: Laboratory Operations Manager

Inflammatix, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Laboratory Operations (Lab Ops) Manager to oversee daily operations management for our molecular biology laboratory as we develop assays and reagents in support of the HostDx™ system. This role will be laboratory-oriented but focused on administrative aspects of lab upkeep including supply management, safety oversight, quality and compliance oversight, coordinating sample storage and transport, and equipment management including calibration. The lab ops manager is expected to engage with and support lab scientists to facilitate the safe, compliant, efficient, and cost-effective execution of wet lab research and development. The lab ops manager may also support research and development processes by performing experimental procedures under the guidance of scientific staff as needed.   • Provide general oversight to all lab functions in support of R&D and sample processing
  • Coordinate cross-functionally to develop, document and improve processes and standards
  • Act as the primary point of contact for lab vendors and manage lab purchasing, including order tracking
  • Enforce laboratory safety standards and conduct routine safety and compliance inspections
  • Manage lab chemical inventory and SDS log
  • Conduct routine calibration and oversee service and maintenance of laboratory equipment
  • Support shipping needs for clinical samples and reagents
  • Handle all lab waste stream management
  • Facilitate capital equipment purchasing, delivery and implementation
  • Maintain quality and safety documentation related to the lab


  • BS/MS, preferably in biological sciences
  • 5+ years of wet lab experience with 2+ years of lab management experience in an industry setting
  • Strong understanding of laboratory processes, equipment, and infrastructure
  • Adept at finance-related roles including budgeting and negotiating with vendors
  • Previous experience working in GLP, GMP or CLIA environment


  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams and support a breadth of administrative needs
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Familiarity with common molecular biology techniques is a plus
  • Experience setting up a new lab or moving a lab a plus
  • Knowledge of BSL2 requirements, or willingness to learn
